Gloria Dei is the name of the local chapter of the Lutheran Woman's Missionary League at Holy Faith. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. Each month one of our members takes a turn as hostess and devotion leader. The purpose of this group is to provide help to others in our community and around the world and to enjoy the Christian fellowship of other members.

One of our annual projects is the distribution of Thanksgiving Baskets to local families who are financially burdened either by illness or unemployment. We work with another congregation in our area to gather turkeys and trimmings. Baskets are delivered a day or two before Thanksgiving Day as an outreach to the community.

Some other projects include freewill offerings, mite boxes and fundraising which enables the sending of money to missions such as the Orphan Train in Russia to provide boots for children. Occasionally items are gathered for a Pregnancy center in our area and our group organizes these items and arranges for their delivery. Also we have made up toiletry gift bags around Easter time and presented them to residents of a local rest home.

Just for fun, we have our Annual Christmas Cookie Swap. All women of Holy Faith are invited to join in the festivities of devotion, song, beverages, and of course cookies.
